Hello. Do you plan to translate the articles you copy? --MF-Warburg (talk) 02:05, 7 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Bula Vinaka MF-Warburg, the answer is yes, I am transfering accross some articles from the english wikipedia on Fiji which use both Fijian and English and I will work through each one slowly and translate, some already have considerable use of Fijian, any help with this would be appreciated. Bula Maikeli, I'm working on transferring the things needed to get this template to work properly. Currently, it's working a little but it doesn't look very good yet.... I'm fixing bits of it as I go along. Feel free to communicate with me on my English wikipedia talk page, since my Fijian is not great (I'm still learning). Vinaka! Translating articles from the English Wikipedia

veisau

Bula Maikeli, Kerekere, would you please not simply copy and paste articles from the English Wikipedia without translating them first. I'm a professional translator but my Fijian is not great. It's better to translate slowly but correctly rather than using the source language for the target audience. You can translate section by section or however you feel most comfortable, as long as articles in the Fijian language make it into the "article space". Another way to start would be to put English versions of the articles in your "user space" and moving them to the "article space" after the translation is complete. Again, feel free to communicate with me about this on my English wikipedia talk page. Vinaka! Tucoxn (talk) 00:33, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Bula Vinaka Tucoxn Sa Donu Tau, you are right I suppose i was trying to kick start things on Tabana Levu, but will refrain from doing so from here on and just work on translating whats here and lengthy some of the aricles already started. Vinaka Saka User:Maikeli

Maikeli, There are several pages that really need editing and would make a big positive impace on na tabana levu. For example, Wikipedia and na vosa vaka-Viti are both linked from that page and are currently en:WP:Red links! I think it would be great to update those, of course in Fijian. Vinaka! Bula Maikeli, You haven't made any progress on the translations as we discussed and it's been over three months. Vogone (a global sysop) and I deleted those pages since they were not in Fijian and were simply copy/pastes of content from the English Wikipedia. If you want them restored to work on the translations, please ask on my talk page and I will move the restored pages them to your userspace. Bula Maikeli! Are you a native Fijian speaker? If so, please feel welcome to translate articles. You do not need to translate large articles all at once, if it takes too much time. Sometimes writing a short translation and then expanding is better. Regards, [a global sysop/small wiki supporter] PiRSquared17 (talk) 17:09, 15 Seviteba 2013 (UTC)Reply
